Florida personal injury: Accident injuries 2, kills 1 in Florida

Most people are aware of the potential of being injured in a car accident while traveling on Florida roads. As a result, the majority of drivers take precautions in an attempt to avoid being involved in such an incident. Unfortunately, even the safest drivers are sometimes unable to avoid the negligent acts of others. The victims of a recent crash -- including the surviving family members of a deceased woman -- may be considering filing a personal injury lawsuit.

The incident happened just before 6:30 p.m. on a day in early April. According to reports, a 35-year-old male was attempting to perform a U-turn when his pickup truck pulled into the path of a sedan. The force of the collision is said to have caused the sedan to turn onto its roof.

Both occupants of the car were transported to the hospital. The passenger, a 49-year-old woman, was reportedly partially ejected; she passed away from her injuries soon after the collision. The 76-year-old driver suffered serious injuries while the driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries.

It is unclear if criminal charges are expected to be filed as a result of the crash; however, the incident likely remains under investigation. In the meantime, a family is now left grieving the unexpected loss of their loved one while a man likely has a long recovery period ahead of him. Funeral expenses and medical bills can quickly become overwhelming -- especially in combination with lost wages -- leaving victims in a precarious financial situation. Fortunately, an experienced personal injury attorney in Florida can help these victims understand their legal options, including the pursuit of monetary damages in a civil court.
